Physicians Mutual Adding Doctors

from WWW.WVMETRONEWS.COM

There's new evidence that more doctors are coming into West Virginia than leaving. The new doctor-run Physicians Mutual has recently signed up 47 new doctors who recently moved to the Mountain State.

Physicians Mutual CEO David Rader says when the company began it July it covered 1,400 hundred doctors, but that has increased to 1,500. He says the 47 new doctors are getting their medical malpractice through the new company.

Rader says it's a positive sign and proof that the medical malpractice reforms approved by lawmakers during the past two years are beginning to take hold.

Rader says the new doctors are joining existing groups of doctors or starting their own practices. He says their specialties range from family practitioners to surgeons. Rader says that variety is also a positive sign.
